Lean

Teknicote continues to implement the Principles of Lean. Teknicote will continuously focus on eliminating non-value added steps and focus on reducing variation. Together we will Simplify and Perfect.

Teknicote is building a “House of Lean” on the following building blocks:

Standard Work – Teknicote finds the most efficient, safest and highest quality way to manufacture parts, and document the process so that they can be repeated consistently.

5-S Visual Management – Applying the 5-S practices of Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain helps Teknicote create an orderly workplace by removing the waste and inefficiencies caused by clutter and disorganization.

Quick Changeover – Reducing steps in the setup and powder change processes allows Teknicote to change from one part to the next more efficiently.

Mistake Proofing – (Poka Yoke) Designing systems, tools and processesto prevent errors enables Teknicote to devote time to finding creativesolutions instead of fixing mistakes.

Layered on this foundation are the business practices and culture at Teknicote to drive consistent quality and meet the expectations of internal AND external customers through:

  • Inventory Management Systems (Kan Ban/Balance Production)
  • Value Stream Mapping/Process Mapping
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Involving & Empowering the Workforce and promoting team work
  • Six Sigma

Teknicote continues to reduce variation within our processes to eliminate defects delivered to our Customers. By using different root cause analysis tools such as the “3 Level – 5 Whys” or “Fish Bone”, Teknicote can reduce defects.

Teknicote is dedicated to understanding the capability of our equipment and processes. This is done by performing capability studies focusing on meeting internal or external customer Pp, Ppk, Cp and Cpk requirements.
