Teknicote is one of the oldest contract powder coating operations in United States having been founded in 1972. It is also one of the largest facilities providing both automatic, semi automatic, and manual powder coating services. From a small deep drawn, brass tube to a large, galvaneal sheet metal telecommunications cabinet Teknicote can provide a protective, high quality decorative powder finish on 1 or 1 million units.

Our Cumberland , Rhode Island facility offers more than 100,000 square feet of some of the most technologically advanced powder coating systems found anywhere. Our state of the art, automated systems include chain on edge, reel to reel, and overhead conveyor system designs to enable us to meet the most diversified applications with ease and in the volumes necessary for any OEM. Part profile capabilities range from the smallest electronic pin connector up to 48" x 72" and lengths of 25 feet. We have six manual lines of various sizes with coordinating ovens, fluidized bed coating, fusion coating and Teflon ® coating.

Multi stage pretreatment and washers are fully integrated in the line or processed through a separate department with capabilities including vapor degreasing, 5 stage iron phosphate, zinc phosphate, de-rusting and de-scaling, non-chromate conversion coating, sandblasting, plastic bead blasting, vibratory finishing, mechanical cleaning, chromating, anodizing, hardcoating, and alkaline cleaning. Other secondary processes include chemical and hot sand stripping.

Our special expertise includes selective powder application, masking techniques and working with special materials like thixomolded magnesium and highly engineered plastics. Close tolerance applications for medical, aerospace, military and electronic are welcomed.

Secondary finishes are also available as requested including screen and pad printing, labeling, light assembly, packaging, and special certifications.

Tekicote is environmentally responsible and complies with all state and federal regulations recycling 50% of all process water used.
